My wife and I were completely caught off guard by the awesomeness at this restaurant. We went on a Wednesday night, which has a fajita special (1 fajita dinner at regular price, get another for only $5.95) and live music. The food was spectacular and very fresh. The salsa had actual pieces of onion and pepper in it! We ordered the steak, chicken and shrimp faijtas. The steak was lightly seasoned/marinated and it was the best of the three, but the entire dish was delicious. The guac and pico were both very fresh. This place must make a lot of things in-house, which is a rarity in tex-mex these days. The desserts (tres leches and flan) were tasty, but the entrees far outshined them. We did not try the bar. Service was attentive and friendly. Price was quite reasonable. We would've gladly paid more for what we got (although we did get a good discount from the fajita special). We will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu. They also offer a Sunday brunch which we were intrigued by. Parking was plentiful, which is a nice perk.

The place is ok. Having come from Texas, I am familiar with great Mexican food. While this isn't GREAT Mexican food - it is good Mexican food. So far, out of the handful of Mexican places I've been to in DC, this place is probably the best. The place brings out chips and salsa to start. The chips are better than the oily, stale chips that some other restaurants bring out. But the salsa is almost like water. Its not really a pico de galla and more a tomato sauce with some onions and tomatoes sitting at the bottom. The sides of rice and refried beans are completely forgettable. I guess they must just have a HUGE vat of this stuff that they scoop out of for every plate. The fare is mostly your regular fare of fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, and tacos. Don't go here if you're going for something new and inventive. This is the normal, tried and true Mexican dishes. I had the fajitas and you can choose a combination between chicken, beef, shrimp, pork, and some other meats. The meats are seasoned well. As far as what comes with them - the veggies were not much. You get mostly onions with a few strips of green pepper. Guacamole, pico, and sour cream come with the fajitas. Cheese is extra and its almost 2 bucks just for the cheese. You can use about 5 - 6 tortillas to make your fajitas with the amount of stuff that you get. The margaritas were really good, though. The pupusas are good too - I'd go with the pork ones. IIRC, the prices weren't all that bad either. About 12 - 15 dollars a plate not including drinks, appetizers, or taxes. About 20 - 30 per person including all those things.

I ordered from this restaurant a couple days ago (Thanks take-out taxi!). It was late night and I was in the mood for mexican. The food was awesome. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. I think their guacamole is handmade. It made the chicken quesadilla that much better. My friend ordered from here as well and really enjoyed her meal, although I can't quite remember what she ordered. My only complaint is the portions. Either I was really hungry or they did not give me enough food. I'm not a HUGE eater, but the quesadilla was a bit on the small side. Minus 1 star because I was still hungry afterwards.

I went during the week for lunch with my 10 year old son. He was craving nachos and Aguila was on our way home. We got there just after they opened. Staff were friendly and place was clean. They offer a lunch buffet which featured Salvadorian dishes: rice and beans, fruit, chicken, beef dish and veggies. My son and I opted for the buffet as the other patrons recommended it. It seems to be popular with Salvadorian locals who work in the area and fill up for lunch but a couple families came in as well and since it was the middle of the week I was surprised to see the restaurant so busy. Food was extremely good. Sopa de Mondongo was very good. My son who is not adventurous loved the lunch and went back a couple times for more beans and chicken (in a white sauce). It was a nice afternoon and I hope to return for the lunch buffet which was only $9ish. You can take the buffet to go as well.

This place is my favorite place to eat and for drinks. The food is really good and the prices are great. They have the best mojitos. Best MOJITOS Best sopa de mondongo (tripe soup) Best tacos al pastor

This place has some amazinggg Salvadorean and Tex-Mex dishes. The pupusas here are good, and definitely larger than I've seen elsewhere. the combination platters are so huge you'll definitely have a doggy bag at this place. The dishes are great them, particularly when you consider the other tex mex options in silver spring are definitely sub-par: Austin Grill (noooo). This place may even be better than Samantha's. I'm not usually a big corn tortilla fan, but the ones at this place are soo good and far from dry! The horchatas are great too!

This is our local Tex-Mex & Salvadorean food place. We actually "discovered" it because an SUV full of Peruvian women asked us for help in finding it while we were at the gas station. Using our navigation, we located the address they gave us and the lady begged us to drive there so they could follow us and we did. When we showed up, we were like, "Ohhh, this place. Yeah, we've seen this place." And the fact that Peruvian visitors were meeting family there made us want to try it. You will certainly notice that the clientele is mostly Hispanic and I think that's wonderful and gives good marks for a place's authenticity. I mean, you really don't see a lot of Mexicans hanging out at Taco Bell with their families (minus the ones that work there). El Aguila aka The Eagle is a simple, yet nice place to have dinner. They have white table clothes, candles and fresh flowers, so even a quick meal out can turn into a romantic evening. One Saturday night they had entertainment; a single performer, playing his guitar and singing love songs in Spanish. Very nice. I'm not incredibly impressed with their Tex-Mex, but everything we've tried has been good, solid, authentic tasting food. I wish their salsa wasn't so runny and that their servers would pick up on the fact that I practically drink it and replace it more, but other than that, I have no major qualms with the place. Food, service, ambiance - all are more than satisfactory and I am definitely a fan. I have to admit, I haven't tried any of their Salvadorean cuisine, which I am very curious about.

I wouldn't say that this was OMG knock my socks off delicious, but the food was very good. I got a plain corn tamale, my boyfriend had one with chicken, pupusas and I had the vegetarian burrito. I would have loved to have more beans, but over all the food was very tasty and the portions were large, the prices were good, and the ambiance was charming and relaxing. I will go back.

This restaurant is located in a small shopping center near the silver spring metro station. From my bus ride I could see it every day and it looked interesting, especially in the sea of not so interesting places in that tiny shopping center. It actually looked kind of quality even though the shopping center is not as much. Its a a fairly small unknown place but when I tried it I knew I was right to have checked it out. The atmosphere inside is authentic feeling and cozy. The food was good and not expensive. The drinks (margaritas!) were also yummy. I would definitely come back here.

I left El Aguila pretty unsatisfied. I went with 2 friends, one who isn't too adventurous in food and one who is. As you can tell if you look at the photo of the outside, the place is in a strip of stores and it doesn't look like much. Once you get inside, it looks a little on the nicer side, with low lighting, cloth napkins set up in fans at every seat, and candles at each table. What a roller coaster ride this experience was. Down, up, down. My unadventerous friend just got chicken tenders. He said they tasted like the frozen Tyson's microwavable tenders. They definitely weren't hand made or anything. Didn't look very appetizing and he seemed to not care for them too much. I got the Combination #1 which is a chicken enchilada, chicken crispy taco, chicken tamale, beans and rice. I also got the chicken tamales from the "Cravings" section of the menu because I love love love tamales. These were the most disgusting, worst tamales I have ever had. I don't know if it was the Salvadorean influence, but they were NOTHING like tamales I have ever had and I was passionately disappointed. The 'cravings' tamales came first, on a separate plate. They were steamed in banana leaves (which I've come to find out is definitely Salvadorean), but the leaves weren't large enough or wrapped tightly enough because the masa inside was completely water-logged. They were totally soggy. It was beyond unappetizing. The filling was chunks of chicken as opposed to shredded, which made the whole thing difficult to eat (even if the masa hadn't been complete mush). Not only did the filling consist of chunks of chicken, it also had peas, green beans, potatoes and carrots. I did not order a chicken pot pie and I did not expect to get something that vaguely resembled a chicken pot pie soaked in water. The enchilada on the combination plate was filled with shredded chicken, which I would have expected in the tamale. The enchilada was okay. Nothing special and I wouldn't recommend it by any means. The tamale was the same as the ones I described before. My crispy chicken taco had been leaning against the enchilada and soggy tamale so in turn had also become soggy. The chicken in that taco had somehow been doctored up with some seasoning that made it taste suspiciously like beef. Not to mention that they couldn't decide on the type of chicken so it had chunks and shredded chicken. There were peas in the rice too. Their chips are unimpressive; I would even go as far as to call them a little gummy. Their salsa IS fresh, however the salsa we got had about 4 tomato chunks and 10 bits of onion and about a cup of liquid so was equally as unimpressive. The guacamole is decent. There was a wait for the food that seemed a little long, almost into the unreasonable territory, and service definitely left something to be desired. Nice people, just don't know what they're doing I guess. The food left a horrible taste in my mouth that wouldn't leave all night. Overall, I would never go back here and I would never recommend it. I was highly disappointed, especially since I had some level of expectation due to the decent reviews I read on here. Sorry El Aguila, but you just left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Good food. Good margaritas. Great place. Would not think so in a strip mall but surprising.

Fast. Friendly. Tasty. Affordable.

We've been working our way through the menu and have enjoyed everything we've tried. The staff is consistently attentive and friendly. A good place for TexMex old favorites and Salvadorian new favorites.
(5)Laura W.
For those of you who don't speak spanish (like me), el aguila is directly translated as "Margaritas of Delicious." They are beyond yummy. I was first exposed to El Aguila at an event they catered at my apartment complex (Summit Hills, where half of Silver Spring lives). I was hooked by the quesadillas. I had to go back. I was really impressed with this restaurant, which you can recognize by the neon green cactus and margarita glass in the window. Don't worry, the food isn't that tacky. The inside of the restaurant is actually quite peaceful and romantic with soft lighting. The waitress was very nice to me and the b/f, even joking around with us when he realized he forgot his ID. I liked the food this time around, too. I ordered the chimichangas with crab and shrimp, which came with a plentiful side of beans, rice, and other trimmings. Hooray for being able to eat it two days in a row.

This is a Mexican-Salvadorean Restaurant that offers a buffet lunch M-F for a very reasonable price. Food is good and the service is prompt and friendly.. and yep, there is always a soccer game or telenovela playing on the T.V.

Perhaps I went to El Aguila with my expectations unrealistically high. I read these reviews and expected to have my mind blown. I do think, however, that this might have been a fluke. Here's the play by play. 1. The chips were kind of stale. Salsa did have real onions and cilantro, but unremarkable and under seasoned. 2. The margaritas were great! The salt on the glass was finely ground and dissolved perfectly in the drink. Probably the highlight of the meal. 3. Our food took an inordinate amount of time to come out. 4. When it did, the server brought two dishes. She placed a huge plate of meat in front of my vegetarian friend, and when he protested, the server argued that he was wrong and this was, in fact, what he'd ordered. Then she tried to convince him that it was OK it was the wrong order. By the time she agreed to take the plate away, he was pretty aggravated. Then she finally realized she'd brought us another table's dinner. She picked them up off our table, and brought them to the right table, without the obligatory pass through the kitchen to make everyone feel better. 4. The food came out. It was hot, but mediocre. - The vegetarian dish was, reportedly, disappointing: but he cleaned his plate so it couldn't have been too terrible. - I had the carnitas tacos. The avocado was fresh, ripe and tasty, the meat was seasoned well, but i got a huge piece of gristle, which was pretty off putting. - My other friend had crab and shrimp enchiladas. She was super sick by the end of the meal... I don't know if it was related. I am going to assume it wasn't. - My boyfriend had the fajitas combination dish. He said they were Tansy but the portion was HUGE ... almost big enough for two. I can't imagine what the actual portion for two would be. 5. We tried to split the bill unevenly. I said "Put $50 on gray card and the rest on the blue." What she heard did was put $15 on the gray card and the rest on the blue. I calmly pointed out her error and she quickly fixed it. All in all, it was a disappointing experience. However, the place was packed ... and it was packed with Latinos, which is usually my litmus test to see if an ethnic place is good (in a totally un-racist way). So I will probably try to go back again. Possibly on a Wednesday for the fajita special, since that was the best thing at our table. Fajitas and margaritas. Stick to that!!

My first visit last night, and I found it to be good food, and a friendly staff, although we did have an issue with the service. I had Camerones El Aguila, and it was quite tasty. The shrimp and vegetables were prepared perfectly. It was served with a small salad that wasn't listed on the menu, so a nice surprise there. One thing I really liked - they had something on the children's menu that is out of the norm! Papusa and fried plantains, with crema and beans. It was a decent size, such that I might order it for myself with an appetizer next time! It was nice not to have to pick between the standard cheese quesadilla or chicken tenders for my son. My friend indicated her vegetarian burrito was too salty, and she is suspicious of it's vegetarian-ness. The wait staff was all very friendly, even after my son broke something. It was still early, 5pm. His food came out quickly, and the server indicated our food would be out in a minute. Unfortunately, it was quite some time later when rest of the food came out, and my son was finishing up his dinner. He's 2 yrs old. When a 2 yr old is done eating, the grown ups are done eating. We had to take turns eating our food versus running him around outside/the restaurant. If the food had all arrived at once, or at least close to it, we would not have had that problem. They are located towards the end of a strip mall. The exterior leaves something to be desired, but the interior was quite nice. Music, table clothes, they had a set up for live music. We were there too early to really get a feel for the crowd, though.

Fajitas and cold beer. It's great!!!

The restaurant had an authentic feel to it and the food was delicious.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for years and it is our favorite. We have tried a number of other Salvadoran restaurants in the area and none are nearly as good. Not only is the food excellent and there are many different options, but according to my husband, they have the best Margaritas around. Plus, the service is good and we have always been treated well, which I'm sad to say has not been true at some other Salvadoran restaurants. I don't know how many people I have recommended El Aguila to, but if you like Salvadoran or Tex Mex food, you definitely should check it out!
(5)Kayla N.
I want to like this place more, but the service is lacking to the point where I had to knock off a star. The food is okay. Not the best Tex Mex in the area, but it's close to home so I stop by occasionally. It's always nearly empty in the restaurant when I come in and yet the wait for my food is always extensive. Not sure why. My food is never piping hot, fresh off the stove. Also the staff is very unwelcoming. As I said, it's often empty in the restaurant but every time I visit, it feels like the staff is annoyed by my presence. If you feel like going out of your way, go to a better place.
(2)Cherrelle L.
Overlooked because of its location. 16th street (silver spring) is known for mediocre restaurants-- but this is a hidden gem! We've been there 3x now and the food has continuously been tasty! Although the service isn't always fast, the food is certainly worth the wait. From strong (but good) Mojitos to mouthwatering, sizzling fajitas, this is definitely a go to! If you catch them on the right night (Friday & Saturday) they have Latin music that makes you sway while you eat! :)
(5)Michael S.
I have eaten here on 4 occasions and each time they have elevated their game. The food is great but the service and wait staff really make the restaurant. It's in a strip center but once you're in, you think you are home. Adrian and Karina are awesome, the warmth and service is top notch. They bring a flavor to the restaurant that can't be found in the chain restaurants that plague Silver Spring. I'm not big on buffets but you can order lunch from menu. The manager was cool today too. He seems to really appreciate feedback about restaurant and staff.
(4)Jenny R.
Pupusas are ok...most of their menu was Mexican food...they don't have pupusas de chicharron which I find to be a very popular Salvadoran dish...not much variety for them
(2)Joe A.
Beware of the lunch buffet. I'm on day #2 of a very bad gastric upset that was directly after eating perhaps the worst and suspicious lunch buffet ever. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star is because I've eaten take out here before and it was ... Eh.
(2)Alina B.
Good place, but very mixed. I'm a born and raised Mexican and the Tex-Mex-Salvadorian Cuisine its actually something people who appreciate a good dish from our country would not like. You would either go to a just Mexican food or just Salvadorian food. The prices are too high and the food its not that good.

Due to recent events, my life in the DC area has resembled a Where's Waldo book. If you search hard enough, you very well might be able to find my exact location. Or you could just use the Foursquare App and find me rather immediately. In any event, the result has placed me in odd locations in or near Washington DC. This time I ended up at El Aguila, a nondescript Salvadorian/Tex-Mex restaurant located in a tiny strip mall in Silver Spring. I sampled both the Salvadorian and Tex-Mex options; basically, El Aguila runs like a larger version of Columbia Height's El Rincon. You can basically expect some solid pork and cheese pupusas ($2) although the pickled cabbage here takes on an unsightly neon yellow hue. What really surprised me, however, is that the beef fajitas here were nicely marinated. No, it's not going to remind me of Texas, but it certainly tasted better than most of the Tex-Mex you can find in DC. Chicken and pork ribs that came with my fajitas were OK, and the guacamole, sour cream, and onions plate was entirely too small. If you aren't in the mood for Salvadorian or Tex-Mex, El Aguila also had a brunch going on as well, Frankly, it looked relatively heinous. I'd stick with the Salavadorian and Tex-Mex options. Overall, El Aguila was solid food at a reasonable price. Although I'm hoping that I won't capriciously land in this corner of Maryland any time in the near future, if you find yourself similarly located, this is not a bad option.

Roaches, Roaches, ROACHES!!! Well that should speak for itself but here is a little explanation. My boyfriend and I went in and were seated quickly. We Ordered the plate for 2 which comes with beef, chicken, ribs and shrimp with tortillas, rice and beans for $37.99. I also ordered a mango margarita which was ok. The food was bland but for that price we had no choice but to eat it. One tortilla into the meal I spot a roach on the wall and my boyfriend kills it. He convinces me to keep eating so I tried to not think about what I just saw. Then about a minute later I see 2 more so I get up from the table and let someone know. I asked if they could take something off the check since we barely ate much of it but they said there was nothing they could do. So we paid the check and left no tip because who wants to pay $53 for the 2 tortillas and rice and beans we did eat. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to eat or eat with roaches. DINE IF YOU DARE.
(1)Brittany M.
This place is always nearly empty when we go, and I have no idea why. It's REALLY good, and we've struck out at a lot of places in the area. The waitress always remembers our drinks when we sit down! Great food here and an easy location with plenty of parking. My ONLY complain is that the salsa is really runny. I know...it's a minor complaint, but I've had a lot of salsa and have my preferences. :) Check this place out.
(4)Carmen S.
Tried the Combination #2 (chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and taco al carbon with beans and rice) and the tacos al pastor. The taco al carbon was nice, but it had nothing on the flavor and tenderness of the tacos pastor. The refried beans are better than their whole beans, and they may go heavy on the crema unless otherwise directed. Their rice needs some help - it was a little greasy and lacked significant flavor. It was not dry at all, just not enough tomatoes/onions as I prefer in my Spanish rice. The salsa was like a spicy gazpacho, texture and flavor-wise (just slightly sweet).
(3)Jorge J.
First time I went here we stood here for 5 mins and no one ever came so we left. Then I came back to give it another try and we got waited on quick. Food was ok, small portions, and then there were these pervert drunks next to us. Too many kids. Too much noise and too dark. I wouldn't go back here again. Bad idea selling alcohol because latinos love getting drunk and talking loud and no I'm not racist I'm LATINO as well. I hate drunks. Also the food was overpriced. $15 for a fried fish? I don't think so.
(1)Ben B.
I had hoped this was going to be an awesome place because it's right across 16th street from my apartment, I've seen it advertised a bit, and it had some descent Yelp reviews. The good - well, it's right across the street from my apartment The OK - The server was fairly attentive although a bit awkward and nervous. I don't really knock the place for that because a lot of international themed restaurants sometimes have awkward servers because of a language barrier or some other self conscious thing, but it was noticeable. The not so good - food and drinks. I mean, that's really what you come to a place to eat out for right? The chips and salsa seemed very much out of a bag/jar and the main dishes were about on par with other mediocre mexican themed places. The margarita tasted very cloying like it was a cheap mix and was not that strong either. For a mexican place to have a bad margarita is not going to earn a high review in my book. I also remember the place being rather over priced for what we got. Caveat - I came at 5:30 on a Friday. Most places are probably not busy and in their prime until much later in the DC area. People talk about the atmosphere being great, and maybe it is during prime time, but it was pretty dead when I was there.
(2)Angela R.
The shrimp appetizer is AMAZING! Fajitas are really tasty. Sangria is wonderful. Not too crowded. Arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night, only one or two other tables; we left at 8 and the place had picked up quite a bit.
(4)Maria N.
I have been coming her off and on for the few years. The food is decent (pollo encebollado, tacos al pastor are two of my favs) BUT the service is really hit or miss. My boyfriend and I joke that there is a 50/50 chance that we will be waiting for our food for a while (thus may need to order more margaritas-which are good :) I noticed that they have a high turnover of wait staff (different wait staff almost every time we come which many explain why the service is hit or miss.) Good for a few glasses of margaritas however...
(2)Johnny A.
The lunch buffet is alright, but he food isn't all that. Service, on the other hand, is friendly. I wish they'd improve the food.
(2)Elias V.
Food was decent, I can't really say I was impressed or disappointed. I cant say that I was expecting much either from this place. Food feedback from my friends was the same as me, OK food. Where I am going to have to gripe are on the service and the singer the had on Friday night. Service: Out waiter took forever on everything. Drinks and refills, I went about ten minutes at one point with no refills. Separating the checks took about 30mins no exaggeration. He wasn't really attending to no more than 2-3 tables so I can't reason that he was busy. I'd understand if he was. Now, the best part! That lousy American idol reject of a joke singer was horrendous! I mean where is Simon Cowell when you need him. This guy had no tune, rhythm or voice. I mean seriously, if they paid this guy for the night El Aguila got screwed over. He was butchering songs. We left in a hurry primarily because his voice was ear shrilling and the volume was obnoxious. He was eating something up on stage too, maybe the Pupusa was wrapped around his vocal cords and limited his singing talents. He will not be going to Hollywood I guess haha. Food makes this place a 3 star. Don't expect much more anytime soon.
(3)Picky D.
Great food and great service! We enjoyed the lunch buffet but the highlight was the Papusas we ordered!!
(4)Rachel E.
the service here was absolutely awful. we were the only one of two tables here and waited 15 minutes between each soft drink refill even though the wait staff kept looking over at us, almost as if it was some sort of strange power move. This is a shame because the food is pretty decent. this is now the third time i've given this restaurant a chance and each time, the service makes it a horrible experience. i'm tired of giving these people my money. three strikes, you're out.
(1)Luke M.
They have a lunch buffet! Authentic Salvadorean fare and quite a few dishes I never tried before. The price and quality of the lunch buffet take this place from a 4 star to a 5... oh yea, the buffet is Monday through Friday only.
(5)Mari C.
El Aguila is a great place to get Tex-Mex food/Salvadorean eats. We had several amazing dishes including enchiladas, burritos and Saltados. The margaritas were OK. The reason for the 4 stars was about service. We waited about 20 minutes after appetizers to get our entrees, which tells me the kitchen is not on point. Also, plates were not cleared out in a timely manner and the dessert menu is lacking a bit. Overall, good eats. You should check it out.
(4)Libby F.
Seis de Mayo: It's the new Cinco de Mayo. We came for $4.95 margaritas and stayed for dinner. Laura W. and Bryony B. are right. They are yummy. I was a bit buzzed after just one. We almost had the place to ourselves. Apparently it was packed the night before for that 5th of May celebration... but the best day to come here is really Wednesday when they offer their buy one fajita dinner, get the second for $5.95 deal. Supposedly it is pretty popular, but not tonight. Even we opted for another choice. Coupon queens rejoice! I had a buy one get one FREE coupon. Now that's better than $5.95. (Don't toss those blue Valpak envelopes away friends.) I had a crab and shrimp chimichanga ($13.99) and my friend had the chicken flautas (FREE). They were both really, really good. They came with all the typical accompaniments: beans, rice, sour cream and guacamole. All very good, especially the guacamole. Our server (third day on the job) was friendly, as was the musician serenading us. He even came over to our table to chat after his first set. Maybe it was because I snapped his photo in the name of Yelp. :) This was was my first time back in several years, but I plan to come back again and again. Ole!
(4)Ildemar C.
The chicken enchilada was on point and my mom loved her chicken chimichanga. We were the only people there during dinner hours which was odd. The music selection could've been a tad better as well but overall happy with the food and service.
(4)Monica A.
Bean & Cheese Pupusa: YES! Corn Tamale: YESSSS! Margaritas: HELL YES! Enchilades: Good but didn't satisfy my Texas taste buds Staff: Service is always slow but everyone is friendly Sour Cream: Ok I don't know what they do to it, but it is so delicious, garlic and peppery and creamy
(4)A C.
Got a delivery from el aguila via takeout taxi. They didnt put the food in bags and I was handed warm wet containers. Seems very unsanitary. Ive had what seems to be food borne sickness since then.

Unfortunately, really awful. I ordered the chicken enchilada, tamale, and chile relleno plate. The chile relleno tasted rancid. The enchilada was beef, dry, and not very good. The tamale was pretty good, but not enough to make up for the very poor quality of everything else. Makes me long for the greasiest FIliberto's in AZ.

Great food. I've been going there for years. The steak and shrimp are really tasty. They also have free entertainment on Saturday night along with dancing. Can't beat this place. And the owner goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable.

Not impressed. Bad bad bad costumer service. The snobby and waiter didn't took care of us as the way it should. We are all equal. We were Latinos giving support to the community but they prefer the American, I guess. When we arrived we waited approximately 5 minutes for the skinny guy to take care of the table, no even 5 minutes passed when an American family were seated right away and the waiter had a little conversation with them and took the order before us. We didn't say anything but I hope he got the hint when he didn't received a good tip. Cadillac Margaritas, I had better in other places. The Plato Grande para dos was ok as well. The best part came when it was time to pay the bill, the snobby waiter preferred to ignored us completely go to the kitchen grab the broom to start "sweeping the floor" yeah right, please, here is when we decided to stand up and start walk to the cashier and here is when stop what he was doing to get the credit card and the groupon. What you don't like Groupon, well I do. I will not come back. Will complaint to Groupon as well.

3.5 stars Was pleasantly surprised by the food here. I was initially wanted to head to Tabasco Tex-Mex, but the hunger was too great so I passed this, hit up yelp, saw it had 4 stars and turned around. I had a burrito, quesadilla, combo with guac, crema, and a nice red onion pico. It didn't come out fast, which is probably a good thing. The quesadilla was probably the best I've ever had, it had various veggies and wasn't the type that you thought "I could have put this together myself." Platters were NOT loaded with melted cheese which, it seems, is all "Mexican" restaurants think they have to do these days - heat something up and smother it with cheese. Wrong. The burrito was tasty, the guac fresh, and I loved the chopped red onion pico. It's a shame that the food is way better than Mi Rancho, but because Mi Rancho has the nicer and more centrally-located space, they will garner more business. Especially since Mi Rancho sucks. En fin, not a bad spot and I hear the margaritas are on point.
